Before your visit

A few questions come up often enough to answer here.

Do I need a referral?

No. Osteopathy is directly accessible in France — no GP letter, no prescription. If your doctor has written to us, bring the letter; it saves time.

What should I bring?

• Any imaging you have — MRI, CT or X-rays — with the radiologist's report, in any language
• Letters from other practitioners
• A list of current medication
• Comfortable clothing: you stay dressed during the session

How long does it take?

Allow an hour for a first consultation, slightly less afterwards. Try not to schedule anything immediately after — some people prefer to sit for a few minutes before leaving.

Cost and insurance

Sessions are 100 €. French social security does not reimburse osteopathy — for anyone, resident or not. An invoice is issued after every session, which most private and expatriate policies accept. If you hold international cover, ask your insurer for the reimbursement form before your visit.

Which languages?

Consultations are held in English, French or Portuguese, whichever suits you best.

When not to book

Some situations need a doctor rather than an osteopath: weakness in an arm or leg, numbness around the saddle area, difficulty passing urine, pain after a significant injury, pain with fever, chest pain or breathlessness. In France the emergency number is 15, or 112 from a mobile.

Getting here

9 rue du Regard, 75006 Paris — a short street linking rue de Rennes to boulevard Raspail, between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Luxembourg Gardens.

Three métro stations within five minutes on foot: Saint-Placide (line 4), the closest; Rennes (line 12); and Sèvres-Babylone(lines 10 and 12), convenient from the Right Bank. Buses 39, 68, 87, 94 and 95 serve the area. Street parking is difficult during working hours — the Bon Marché and Saint-Sulpice car parks are the practical options.

Booking

Booking online shows real availability. For acute pain, calling is more effective: slots free up regularly and do not always appear online straight away. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 8pm, and Saturday 10am to 3pm.
